Pay Range:  $53,900.00-$70,100.00 and determined based on relevant years of work experience.

Position Summary: Reporting to the Executive Director for Inclusion & Belonging, the Coordinator of Student Belonging will develop and implement impactful programs that foster student belonging on campus. This will be achieved through collaboration with internal and external partners to enhance student access and success as well as dedicated support to targeted student groups. This role will maintain accurate programming data while contributing to a vibrant campus community.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required with two years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
• Experience working in higher education, preferably within community college settings to support student programming.
• Demonstrated ability to be coachable, resilient, and adaptable, with a proven capacity to learn from feedback, overcome challenges, and adjust to changing circumstances effectively.
• Understanding of the CliftonStrengths (Gallup) model of development.
• Basic knowledge of current trends and topics related to diversity, equity, inclusion, & belonging.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with high school and college students from diverse backgrounds.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with proven ability to effectively deliver content.
• Experience performing with a high level of diplomacy, confidentiality and trust while projecting a professional and positive image.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize objectives and exercise judgment based on an understanding of organizational policies and activities.
• Ability to respond quickly and constructively to changes or unexpected shifts in priorities.
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency with a variety of computer applications, including but not limited to: Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SharePoint), Adobe Acrobat, and Creative Cloud.

Position Details: Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and implement programming to support student sense of belonging on campus through partnerships with various campus departments.
  • Collaborate with external partners such as K-12 districts, transfer colleges and universities, and community organizations to promote student access and success at JCCC. 
  • Use a strengths-based approach to provide targeted guidance, mentorship, and support to promote student access and success for targeted student groups. (I.e., First generation college students, Scholarship recipients, etc.) 
  • Maintain accurate data on support and programming provided to prospective and current students.
  • Serve as an internal champion and ambassador for the Office of Inclusion & Belonging. 
  • Assist with the management of the office’s social media presence. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
