Pay Range:  $15.95 - $20.31 per hour and determined based on relevant years of work experience.

Position Summary: This person will support the Chair and Staff in the Graphic Design labs FADS 202, 213, 216, 219, 220, and GEB 233. Assist in providing support to faculty/staff in support of student program activities on campus. Directly assist entry-level students with software/hardware questions and troubleshooting issues with lab computer programs, printers and scanners.

JOB OBJECTIVES

1. Classroom Software and Hardware Support – Software and Hardware knowledge and application

2. Faculty and Staff Support with Classroom Labs – Assist in providing support to chair, faculty, staff for materials and technology associated with classrooms.

3. Program Materials and Supplies Support – hardware knowledge of Apple/PC computers, program printers and scanners.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Current in Adobe Creative Suite software, in particular: lnDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat. Microsoft Word and Excel.
    Seeking AAS in Graphic Design.
  • Working in a professional environment and ability to multi-task.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge using After Effects.
  • Making fillable-forms in Acrobat.
  • Creating spreadsheets for processes.
  • Ability to communicate and share technical expertise to students using Apple computers and Adobe software.

Position Details: Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assist faculty in the preparation of materials for classroom laboratories. 
  • Maintain working knowledge of related tools, equipment, or technologies within spaces assigned.
  • Assist with inventory of supplies and equipment and report any damage or defects. 
  • Return labs to clean/ready state following classes and ensure the lab is clean and organized.
  • Check students in and out of the lab and ensure they are following the rules of the lab. 
  • Maintain security of the lab and its contents. Remain aware of surroundings to keep the lab functioning as a safe and healthy environment. 
  • Maintain departmental compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations and JCCC policies. 
  • Assist students in the lab, providing time for students to enhance their learning that has occurred in the formal classroom setting.
